Position Summary: The Department of Political Science at Rollins College invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor of American politics, beginning August 2025. We seek an Americanist with proficiency in research methodology. Substantive focus is open, although applicants able to contribute to Rollins' interdisciplinary programs such as African & African American Studies, American Studies, Data Analytics, or Public Policy and Political Economy, are especially welcome.
Our department members regularly engage in student/faculty collaborative summer research, international field studies, and honors thesis supervision. The regular teaching load is three courses per semester, including Introduction to American Government and one course yearly for our general education program.
Rollins College is a comprehensive liberal arts college located just north of Orlando, FL, a diverse metropolitan community with a thriving economic and cultural scene. Minimum Qualifications and Education: - Ph.D. or ABD in Political Science with a specialization in American politics and proficiency in research methods.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, preferably in the liberal arts.
- Ability to contribute to, help foster, and sustain a diverse and inclusive learning and working environment at Rollins.
- Record of scholarly activity showing strong potential for future publication.
