Job Summary: The Associate Director of In-State and Transfer Recruitment provides leadership, direction, and supervision over the team that recruits prospective and transfer students within Alabama. Supervises Manager of Regional Recruitment. Creates training and professional development programs. Contributes to and participates in the creation of recruitment plans for in-state regions.
Additional Department Summary: This position assumes primary responsibility for all areas of in-state and transfer admission and transition. Manages transfer recruitment email campaigns, social media, event software applications and other forms of media for prospective students and their parents. Provides leadership to the in-state regionals and transfer admission counselor(s) by maintaining constant communications to achieve in-state and transfer enrollment goals. Ensures thorough training and daily updates are provided to the In-State and Transfer Admission and Transition area staff members. Ensures the In-State and Transfer Admission and Transition staff are well versed with our academic programs and co-curricular opportunities. Provides excellent customer service to the prospective incoming in-state and transfer students and their parents/spouse.
The Associate Director works closely with their supervisor to provide direction for the Transfer Admission and Transition area. Assist with developing, managing, and executing innovative and results-oriented recruitment strategies to ensure the transfer student enrollment goal is met. Ensures organizational support is given to help coordinate and implement proactive outreach activities and programs in conjunction with Community Colleges to enhance transfer recruitment and yield efforts.
Develops, implements, and maintains an advising model to assist transfer students with course registration and transition to UA. Works with the Office of Orientation to develop an online as well as a campus orientation program option specific to transfer student needs and trends.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. One (1) year supervisory experience in an admissions, recruitment, or marketing operation. Experience recruiting home educated students.
