About the Role:
As the Chief Medical Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing leadership and oversight to our medical team, ensuring top-notch healthcare delivery and adherence to best practices for the MEDSSI Project.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of quality and clinical governance initiatives, including medical record keeping, infection control standards, emergency response preparedness, and patient safety.
Chair the Medical Executive Committee (MEC), ensuring effective meetings and documentation.
Oversee various hospital committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Credentialing and Privileging, Peer Review, and Infection Control, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Manage peer reviews of medical charts and maintain up-to-date Focus Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
Guide clinical case management and patient referrals, working closely with insurance companies and medevac providers.
Collaborate with other leaders to ensure business continuity from a medical perspective.
Promote adherence to standard operating procedures and protocols.
Supervise healthcare providers, including physicians, surgeons, mid-level providers, and dentists.
Set strategic direction for medical staff and physician services, supporting both short- and long-term goals.
Serve as the clinical leader, providing support, education, and leadership for other clinical leaders.
Ensure operational effectiveness of the physician services program, and report on metrics to gauge impact.
Contribute to the development of administrative policies, medical practice procedures, and equipment recommendations.
Assist in planning new medical services and review practice management functions, patient satisfaction surveys, and complaints.
Provide medical consultation and participate in training and educational programs.
Engage in site meetings with the Project Manager and government representatives, and participate in government audits as needed.
Report to the Chief Medical Officer to ensure quality and compliance.
Serve as the Medical Director for the EMS service on MEDSSI, coordinating skill validation and protocols, and participating in critical incident reviews as required.
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Proficiency in English for effective communication.
Unrestricted healthcare license from any US state, district, or territory.
Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited school in the US or Canada.
Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is preferred.
DEA license.
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain US DOS clearance.
Willingness to relocate to Iraq and maintain a valid passport.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience on a military site or as a government contractor is highly desirable.
