Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Data Center Administrator is to manage and maintain the organization's IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security measures, to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Day-to-day operations

• Lead troubleshooting efforts for system outages or performance issues, coordinating with other teams as needed.
• Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor resource usage and plan for capacity upgrades or optimizations.
• Implement and maintain security policies, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Participate in change control board meetings to review and approve changes.
• Generate regular performance and capacity reports for management review.
• Identify opportunities for improving existing IT processes and workflows and propose enhancements.

Infrastructure Planning and Automation

• Lead automation initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Develop scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and improve workflows.
• Participate in the design of new systems or major upgrades, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Evaluate and select vendors for hardware, software, and services.
• Contribute to the design of high availability solutions for critical systems.
• Assist in planning and configuring disaster recovery sites for business continuity.
• Explore strategies for integrating cloud services into the existing infrastructure.
• Design and implement secure network architectures, including DMZs (demilitarized zones) and VLANs (virtual LANs), to segregate traffic and protect critical assets.
• Develop network security policies and procedures, including password policies, network segmentation rules, and incident response plans.
• Work cooperatively with others

• Maintain regular, punctual and reliable attendance and availability

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and related hardware and software
• Experience with monitoring and analyzing system logs
• Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Project management, customer service and organizational skills
• Leadership, conflict resolution, and advanced communication skills
• Virtualization: VMWare ESXi and Nutanix AHV experience required
• Hyperconverged Infrastructure experience required
• Experience with Server Operator Systems: Microsoft Windows Server and Linux
• Experience with network management and monitoring tools
• Experience with AD Management, Exchange Management, and Office 365
• Possess a valid driver s license
• Possess a satisfactory driving record as determined by company driver policies

Travel Requirement:

• 10% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
