What Makes This Role Special?

As a Middle School Math Teacher at The Walker School, you'll do more than teach math—you'll inspire curiosity, ignite creativity, and build confidence in students as they tackle the challenges of Pre-Algebra and Algebra . With a teaching load of five sections and three preparations, you'll connect with 75-90 motivated learners, building lasting relationships that make a difference.

But that's not all. Our teachers don't just work in the classroom; they lead on the field, in the arts, and in service. Whether you're coaching a team, organizing a field trip, or advising a student club, you'll have the opportunity to shape the Walker experience for our students.

We're searching for someone who is:

• Passionate about mathematics and eager to make it exciting and accessible for middle schoolers.

• Dedicated to fostering a positive, encouraging learning environment.

• Innovative, with experience using technology and project-based learning to enrich the curriculum.

• Collaborative, ready to work alongside talented colleagues across divisions.

• Engaged in the life of the school, from sponsoring extracurriculars to participating in special events.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Teach and inspire in, Algebra,and Pre-Algebra.

• Be available to students after school for extra help or enrichment.

• Organize and chaperone field trips, including one multi-day adventure each year.

• Participate in school events like parent-teacher conferences, open houses, and admissions activities.

• Bring your unique talents to support extracurricular programs, whether in athletics, arts, or clubs.

What You Bring to the Table

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degrees preferred).

• Proven excellence in teaching middle school mathematics.

• A commitment to equity and inclusion, ensuring every student feels valued.
