Mac Electronic Prepress Operator

Job Summary:

Allied Printing Services, Inc. is currently looking for an experienced Mac Electronic Prepress Operator that will be responsible for preparing files for conventional offset and digital printing. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Perform digital prepress functions including preflight and review of client-supplied files for proper file format, color break, fonts, and graphics to ensure they conform to client/printer specs. 
• Prepare files for offset, digital and variable data output. Add bleeds, convert colors, silhouette, color correct and profile images, create, clean up or apply die lines, manipulate pages for various binding and finishing (saddle-stitch, perfect bind, score, fold, etc.).
• Export files in proper format for prepress RIP system.
• Output laser proofs and check work for accuracy.

Required Skills/ Abilities : 

• Knowledge of Mac-based computer systems and common file systems and file transfer protocols.
• Proficient using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat), Enfocus Pitstop and Extensis Suitcase. Microsoft Office knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to inspect and analyze work for inconsistencies. 
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with co-workers and internal team.
• Critical thinker; technical troubleshooter; problem-solver; team oriented.
• Print production background preferred as this is NOT a creative position.

Education/Experience:

• College graduate preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a commercial and digital environment.
• Supervisory and prepress imposition experience highly considered.

Physical Requirements:  Sitting-50%, Walking-50%

Job Type: Full Time 
Shift Available & Schedule: 1st Shift 8:00am-4:00pm, 2nd Shift 4:00pm-12:00am, 3rd Shift: 12:00am-8:00am
