Job Description

Classroom Teachers play an integral role in providing a warm, responsive and supportive atmosphere where children are able to learn and grow in all areas within a developmentally appropriate manner.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be passionate about working with young children
• Have prior classroom experience
• Possess strong classroom management skills paired with an ability to plan and implement monthly/yearly curriculum, projects, and activities for the children
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and administration
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Have a flexible nature

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Preferred- Master’s degree or matriculation in a Master’s degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Preferred: NY State Certification, or working towards Certification

Established in 1972, St. Thomas More Play Group offers an independent, traditional, nonsectarian nursery program for children two through five years of age.
