Job Description

Position: Procurement Logistics Coordinator

Pay Rate/Salary: $28 - $32 D.O.E

Location : Turlock, CA

Schedule : Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Job Description:

The Operations Procurement and Logistics Coordinator provides general support to a variety of functions including purchasing, operations, and accounting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, operations and plant supplies. Maintain expenditure within budget parameters and compliant with purchasing policy guidelines.
  • Responsible for inventory management including maintaining appropriate inventory levels, setting up appropriate safety stock, minimum and maximum levels and re-order points.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including price negotiations, detailed scope of work and creation of purchase orders.
  • Work with suppliers to process returns, securing return authorizations and managing vendor complaints as necessary.
  • Evaluate suppliers on quality, timeliness and cost competitiveness
  • Review and update purchase orders as needed in Sage, following up on past due and outstanding orders, reviewing discrepancies and updating accounting on discrepancies prior to the end of each reporting period and as needed.
  • Allocating product to appropriate orders when product is in a third-party warehouse or virtual location.
  • Creates value by coordinating with customers and/or warehouse personnel on shipping schedules and facilitating the export documentation process.
  • Accepts, reviews, and obtains approvals of all sales orders.
  • Enters all sales orders into Sage ERP system.
  • Communicate with Brokers and freight forwarders to obtain Master Ocean Bill of Lading, Identify and resolve discrepancies as required.
  • Communicate with appropriate internal/external customers, Brokers, departments, loading facilities, and freight forwarders when needed.
  • Create, assemble, and submit applicable export documentation required per country specific destination in accordance with export laws and regulations
  • Track progress of production, quality testing and shipment schedules to communicate with customers on progress of orders
  • Maintain export files in an organized system
  • Multi-task, prioritize workflow, and complete tasks with a high level of organization, responsibility, and efficiency

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of procurement/logistics experience needed; experience in the dairy industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word. Sage or similar ERP system a plus.
  • Some general dairy industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • 1 year experience in an operation within a role in a food manufacturing environment and demonstrated leadership skills.
