Duties: provide academic advisement to students about the content and structure of postsecondary programs in the Academic Advising and Assistance Center; assist students in the development of an educational plan, including choosing a program of study and/or clarifying educational goals along with informing students about alternatives, limitations, and possible consequences of academic decisions (e.g., adding, dropping, and withdrawing from courses; change of program, major and/ or transfer institution); maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the College’s programs and requirements while collaborating with other departments and participating in individual and team professional development; remain current with technology used to provide advising services and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; experience working in a university/ college setting; experience with developmental academic advising philosophy; experience working in a culturally-diverse setting; have an understanding of the academic structure of a university; able to function independently and as a member of a team in constantly changing environment.
