Job Responsibilities
75% - Research about Beavers and Beaver Mimicry in the American West
- Utilize beaver occupancy models, as well as performing QA/QC on AI beaver identification model outputs, to
evaluate the potential population count and distribution of beavers
- Use/develop appropriate computer modeling and remote sensing techniques to estimate vegetation greenness, and total water and carbon storage in actual and potential beaver occupancy scenarios
- Participate in planning and execution of field work as needed
- Interface with partner organizations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geography, environmental science or a related discipline by the start date and 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination a combination of education and work experience to equal five (5) years
- Advanced GIS skills
- Strong knowledge of beaver ecosystem engineering
- Strong knowledge of remote sensing
- Previous experience working with the BRAT (Beaver Restoration Assessment Tool) model
- Strong writing and public communication skills
