DESCRIPTION
Your primary responsibility as a Survey Research Scientist on the Reputation Marketing & Insights team will be to provide research support for a global reputation tracking survey. You will be responsible for conducting basic and advanced modeling on attitudinal and perception-based survey data, as well as developing the mechanisms to ensure statistical rigor in our sampling and weighting practices. You will partner with market researchers, media analysts, and strategists from across our team to dive deep into data, establish strategic territories, and identify audience opportunities in order to guide the broader Communications and Corporate Responsibility (CCR) organization.

Key job responsibilities
- Conduct basic and advanced modeling on survey data (e.g., regression, structural equation modeling, latent growth curve modeling, Shapley analysis, etc.)
- Write code to generate data tables and charts
- Develop experiments to improve survey design, data quality, and drive causal learnings
- Identify opportunities to simplify existing research processes and operate more nimbly
- Manage the vendor data ingestion pipeline and partner with data engineers to launch and maintain a data dashboard
- Engage in strategic discussions with partner teams to ensure our research generates actionable and on-point findings
- Scale learnings and insights to other teams in CCR and the broader Amazon marketing and communications community
- Identify messaging opportunities and inform communication strategies that will bolster Amazon’s reputation
About the team
This team sits within the Communications and Corporate Responsibility (CCR) organization. Our focus is on conducting research that tracks reputational trends on a global scale and informs communication strategies for Amazon as a brand.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experience
- Knowledge of R and SQL
- Ability to run and interpret statistical models (e.g., regressions, structural equation modeling, Shapley models, etc.)
- 3+ years of investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products experience
- Experience working with and analyzing survey and perception tracking data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate research to executive leaders and audiences that do not have a technical background
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously
- Proven ability to work in an interdependent team and develop processes at scale
- Detail-oriented, with an ability to move fast and adapt to change
