Job Description

Job Summary:

The Laundry Attendant position is responsible for providing clean linens for the hotel including sheets, towels, banquet linens, etc. The Laundry Attendant is also responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary space in the laundry room. You may also be called upon to maintain and sanitize public spaces as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Sort all linens and treat stains.
• Load all laundry into the washer and wash according to standards.
• Minimize inventory loss by spot treating as needed.
• Take wet, clean items and dry as directed.
• Sort and fold or hang clean dried items.
• Maintain inventory of necessary supplies (linens, cleaners, etc.).
• Maintain all laundry equipment and report any maintenance items.
• Walk the premises for any laundry that hasn’t been brought to the laundry room, including pool and annex.
• Perform additional laundry services when necessary.
• Ensure laundry room departmental standards and checklists are followed.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Sanitize all areas of the laundry room at the end of shift.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and alert supervisors as the supply gets low.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintains a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with guests and fellow staff members.
• Performs other duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Adherence to laundry guidelines and checklist
• Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hotel laundry or related experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand for prolonged periods
• Able to climb ladders
• Able to climb stairs
• Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property
• Able to twist, bend, reach and pull
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
